Welcome to Heritage Chimney Sweeping

I provide a range of professional sweeping services designed to keep your home safe and your appliance running efficiently. My transparent flat-fee pricing ensures excellent value with no surprises, and every service is carried out to National Standards.

Each sweep includes an insurance-recognised 'Certificate of Sweeping' from the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps; please see below for full details and my Terms & Conditions.

Log Burners with a lined flue - £75

This service is designed for Log burners with a liner found in most local homes. I provide a comprehensive clean for lined multi-fuel stoves and wood burners, ensuring your appliance operates safely and efficiently.

For multi fuel stoves and wood burners installed directly into the original masonry chimneys without a dedicated liner the cost is £105. The price reflects the extra time required to collect and remove fallen soot from the register plate via the access hatch.

Other Services

Inglenook - Open Fires
£250

These larger chimneys, typically with openings exceeding six feet, require specialist care and additional time to properly protect your room from soot. This service also covers unlined log burners where the flue terminates just above the closure plate, ensuring the entire original inglenook void is thoroughly cleaned through the access hatch.

Biomass Log & Pellet Boilers
£90

Most biomass boiler flues require an annual sweep to comply with insurance requirements and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) grant conditions. To ensure a smooth service, sweeping should ideally be completed prior to your engineer's scheduled maintenance visit.

New Home - Fire and Chimney Inspection
£150

Designed for those who have moved into a property without any fireplace paperwork, this service provides peace of mind before you light your first fire. It includes a full sweep, a CCTV inspection, a smoke draw test, and a thorough check of all accessible internal and external components. You will also receive bespoke advice on how to use your appliance efficiently, and paperwork documenting the work and any recommendations.

Birds Nest Removal
£250

Removing a bird's nest can be a time-consuming process as twigs and debris often fill the entire length of the flue. This specialist service includes a full camera inspection as standard to ensure the chimney is completely clear and safe for use.

Tar & Creosote Removal
£450

This chemical treatment is essential for flues with heavy tar or creosote build-up, which must be cleared to prevent chimney fires or before fitting a new liner. While standard flues are covered by the base rate, specialist treatment for larger inglenook fireplaces is charged at £750 due to the scale of the work required.

CCTV Inspection
£90

The use of advanced camera technology to examine the entire length of your flue, identifying any hidden cracks, blockages, or structural damage. This provides clear visual reassurance that your chimney system is safe to use.
